Louanne started her ballet training at the age of 5, inspired by her mother who danced in the first professional company in Johannesburg, South Africa. After beginning her training in the RAD method, her family moved which led her to meet the noted Eileen Keegan, with whom she started training. Miss Keegan was a senior examiner for The Cecchetti Society in South Africa, and she had danced in the famous Diaghilev Company, "Ballet Russe". Louanne went on to complete her training, achieving the Enrico Cecchetti Final Diploma and the coveted "Fellowship" status in the Cecchetti Method. During this time, Louanne also completed exams in Imperial Modern, Jazz, Tap and Spanish Flamenco. In her early years in the U.S., she danced in a Spanish Dance Company under Pablo Rodarte. Louanne came to the U.S. with the Colorado Ballet and stayed with the company for two years before opening her own studio in 1986. In 2003, Louanne founded the Rocky Mountain Youth Dance Foundation to provide a means of dance instruction for children at risk. In addition to running her non-profit and teaching for Starstruck, she also travels the country as an examiner for Cecchetti U.S.A.
